The branch of Ayurveda which integrates the Principles and Practices of Ayurveda, Yoga (AyurYoga) and Preventive and Social Medicine for Holistic Health and Wellness is called as Swasthavritta. (Swastha-Healthy, Vritta – Living)
MOTTO of which is to understand the applied aspects and practice the principles of Ayurvedic and Yogic Daily regimen, Seasonal regimen, and Diet regimen for disease prevention and health promotion It includes Ayurveda and Yoga based preventive healthcare services to the society especially for lifestyle disorders. It provide Ayurveda and Yoga based holistic health and wellness services to the community.
Departmental Museum has charts and models related to preventive and community medicine.
Department showcases charts and ayurvedic Ahara dravyas or food specimens related to ayurvedic nutrition and dietetics and exposure to naturopathic treatment modalities.
A well designed and serene yoga practice hall for understanding Yoga therapy.
Students are also trained for practical approach of Swasthavritta with respect to Arogya lakshana and its clinical assessment in relation to life style diseases.
Departmental laboratory is well equipped with pathya Ahara session for providing hands-on training on Ayurvedic dietetics.
Also encourages to do survey and research based studies on Community Health in collaboration with Public Health sector.
She is currently working as Associate Professor in the Dept of Swasthavritta at Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital Mangalore. She completed BAMS in the year 2013, and completed MD (Ayu) in 2017 from ALN Rao ayurveda medical college, Koppa. She is vell versed in treating life style disorders through ayurvedic lifestyle modification, therapeutic diet and yoga therapy. She has worked on ayurvedic programme for nutrition and dietetics in ayurveda.
